On August 18, the finals of the 2025 China Belt and Road International Undergraduate Medical Innovation Competition wrapped up successfully in Jinan China.

A standout achievement came from an SDU MBBS student team: led by team member Joana Teresa Monteiro Capao da Costa Campos and supervised by Professors Liang Xiaohong and Liu Hong, the team secured the Silver Medal at this international event. Their award-winning project was titled “Ultrasound-Activated Piezoelectric Nanoparticles for Targeting and Activating NK Cells in Tumor Immunotherapy”.
