As a clinical medicine student at Shandong University, your daily life would be very fulfilling and full of challenges, but also filled with many memorable experiences. Here is a typical description of a daily life scenario:

A Typical Weekday

Morning (7:00 - 8:00 AM): Energizing Start

Getting up and breakfast: After waking up in the student dormitory, you can go to the cafeteria to enjoy a rich breakfast, with both Chinese and Western options available at reasonable prices.

Commute: Shandong University's campus is large, and many students will ride shared bikes or take the campus bus to the teaching buildings or the medical school. This is itself a way of exercising and enjoying the campus scenery.

Afternoon (8:00 - 12:00 PM): Focused Theory Learning

Class Start: The clinical medicine courses are very intensive. The morning is usually the core theoretical classes, such as Human Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, etc.

Teaching Language: For international students, the school has an English-taught undergraduate program in clinical medicine (MBBS). So your teachers will teach in English, and the textbooks are in English.

Afternoon (12:00 - 14:00 PM): Lunch and Rest

Food Exploration: This is one of the most anticipated moments of the day! You can go with international classmates from all over the world, spend little money to enjoy food from all over China, or cook your hometown cuisine in the dorm.

Nap: After lunch, you might go back to the dormitory for a short nap, or go to the library for a little rest to prepare for the afternoon classes.

Afternoon (14:00 - 18:00 PM): Experiment and Practice

Experimental Courses: Medical learning cannot be separated from practice. The afternoon courses are likely to be dissection laboratory courses (in well-equipped dissection laboratories), histological and embryological experiments (observing through microscopes), or biochemical experiments, etc. This is the key link to convert the morning theory into practice, although it is hard but very interesting.

The library at Shandong University has a very strong learning atmosphere.

Evening (19:00 - 22:00 PM): Self-study and Socializing

Late Night (After 22:00 PM): Rest

End the fulfilling day and recharge for tomorrow's challenges. You might chat with roommates or have video calls with family and friends.

In summary, as an international student studying medicine at Shandong University, your life will be a perfect combination of "Hard Study" and "Exciting Exploration". You will be overwhelmed by the heavy academic burden, but you will also experience a great sense of achievement after solving difficult problems; you will miss home, but you will also build a new international family in this open and inclusive campus.

This is a journey that will benefit you for a lifetime. Wish you all the best in your life at Shandong University!
