I would like to express my gratitude to Shandong University for providing us with the opportunity to participate in this enriching Chinese and Foreign Youth Cultural Research Activities on September 27th-28th. My name is Zahra Abedi, and I am a freshmen MBBS student. The last two days at the Chinese and Foreign Youth Cultural Research Activities were truly enlightening and filled with rich cultural experiences.

Day 1: We began with a warm-up ceremony featuring delightful performances, including a captivating youth musical instrument showcase, where the harmonious sounds of traditional instruments filled the air. Following this, the Young Pioneers delivered a stirring poetry recitation, their voices resonating with passion and pride, creating an inspiring atmosphere that united us all.

The opening program allowed us to delve into the wisdom of Confucian classics, as Chinese and international students took turns reading passages. The profound words highlighted the deep philosophical roots of Chinese culture, fostering a sense of shared understanding and respect. This was followed by fellow students’ speeches that emphasized the importance of cultural exchange and understanding, setting a meaningful tone for the launch ceremony, where guests unveiled a scroll, symbolizing our collective journey into traditional Chinese culture.

After the ceremony, we were introduced to various excellent courses on Chinese traditional culture research. Presentations from international students at Shandong University and a representative from Qufu Normal University enriched our understanding of the diverse aspects of Chinese heritage.

In the afternoon, we engaged in hands-on experiences of traditional Chinese culture. Donning elegant hanfus, we felt a connection to history as we stitched our own notebooks, learning the intricate art of binding. This activity was both creative and meditative, allowing us to reflect on the traditions we were exploring.

The day concluded with a mesmerizing shadow play performance, where skilled puppeteers brought to life ancient stories through intricate shadows cast against vibrant backdrops. The artistry and storytelling captivated us, providing a glimpse into the rich narrative tradition of China. To cap off the evening, we participated in a brief archery course, learning the basics of this ancient skill. It was exhilarating to feel the bowstring release, connecting us to the martial traditions of Chinese culture.

After a fulfilling day, we returned to our dorms, eager to rest and reflect on our experiences.

Day 2: We kicked off the morning with anticipation as we traveled to the Confucius Museum for our research activities. The museum's exhibits offered a profound glimpse into Confucian philosophy and its impact on Chinese society. Walking through the halls filled with artifacts and historical texts deepened our appreciation for the cultural heritage we were studying.

Overall, this camp was not just an educational experience; it was a journey into the heart of Chinese culture, leaving us inspired and eager to share our newfound knowledge.
