Shandong University held the opening ceremony for its 2026 MBBS program at Baotuquan Campus. The ceremony officially launched the academic journey of a new group of international medical students at the prestigious Chinese medical institution.

JOANA TERESA MONTEIRO CAPÃO DA COSTA CAMPOS, a senior international student from Portugal, shared her learning and campus adaptation experiences with new students. She urged incoming freshmen to challenge themselves, participate actively in campus activities and academic exchanges, and make the most of their university studies.

ZHE JUN AW, a freshman representative from Malaysia, expressed the aspiration and plan for a future career in medicine. On behalf of the freshmen, he vowed to follow the school’s guidance, uphold medical ethics, study diligently, deepen professional expertise and enhance practical medical capabilities.

All 2026 MBBS freshmen then took a solemn Medical Student Oath, reinforcing their professional responsibility, sense of mission and reverence for the medical profession.

To facilitate freshmen’s campus and academic adaptation, the School of Basic Medical Sciences arranged a full range of orientation activities, including tours of the school history museum and human science museum, as well as senior student experience-sharing sessions. These activities aim to help international students integrate into campus life quickly and build a sound learning environment for their medical studies.
