MBBS Student Co-Authors Scientific Research on Viral Link to Parkinson's Disease in Scientific Reports

Ms. Yasaman Alizadeh, an MBBS student from G2019 at Shandong University, from Iran, has contributed to  research published in Scientific Reports (Nature Portfolio) that reveals a potential causal link between varicella-zoster virus (VZV) antibodies and Parkinson’s disease (PD). The study, now indexed in PubMed, represents one of the first applications of Mendelian randomization (MR) to investigate how anti-VZV IgG levels may influence PD risk and progression.
